Topic: FINANCIAL REPORTING TOPIC - An in-depth look at the impact of ASU 2015-02 which modifies the evaluation of whether limited partnerships are variable interest entities (VIEs) or voting interest entities, eliminates the presumption that a general partnership should consolidate a limited partnership, and affects the consolidation analysis of reporting entities that have fee arrangements and related party relationships.

Topic - Oil and Gas Financial Reporting Update
Speaker - Matt Federle
Matt Federle has nearly a decade of experience in public accounting and consulting, concentrating on assurance, review and compilation services. His experience includes audit and consulting engagements for public, private and private equity-funded companies, including upstream and midstream oil and gas entities, oil field service companies, property and casualty insurance companies and employee benefit plans. He has detailed knowledge and experience with public accounting matters such as stock splits, preferred stock conversions, EPS calculation and disclosure, business combinations and valuation services, and equity method investment basis differential.
Matt, a certified public accountant, holds a master of science in accounting and information management from the University of Texas at Dallas, and holds a bachelor of science in accounting and finance from Trinity University.
COPAS Finance & Tax Committee Meeting - Federal Excise Tax Issues and Opportunities In Oil & Gas Industry
The next COPAS Finance and Tax Committee meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 28th at 11: 30 am. Lunch and CPE will be provided.
The presentation will be made by Eric Perez and David Fonda of McGladrey LLP. They specialize in Federal Excise Tax and will present compliance and planning opportunities to minimize the tax.
The Committee meeting will be held at the Knoll Trail Plaza Rooftop Patio, located at 16400 Dallas Parkway, Dallas, TX 75248, on the east side of the Dallas North Tollway, between Keller Springs Road and Westgrove Dr. This is the building where Eland Energy is located.
The main entrance and parking are on the east side of the building, facing Knoll Trail Drive. Use the main lobby elevator to 5th floor Rooftop Patio, since access is private there should be someone there to assist you to gain access.

Speaker: Eric Kalamaras
Bio: Eric Kalamaras serves as Chief Financial Officer of Azure Midstream Partners, LP and Azure Midstream Energy, LLC. He most recently held Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer positions for Valerus Energy Holdings, L.P., a multi-billion dollar field service company. Prior to Valerus Energy Holdings, L.P., he was Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer for Laser Northeast Gathering Company, the principle asset of Delphi Midstream Partners, LLC, until it sold to Williams Partners, L.P. for $750 MM. Additionally, he successfully led financial restructuring as an Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer of Atlas Pipeline Partners (NYSE: APL) from 2009-2011. As a previous investment banker with Wells Fargo and Bank of America, Mr. Kalamaras offers an extensive transactional and capital raising background with placement of over $30 billion of debt and equity, primarily focused on Master Limited Partnerships.

Topic - Moving from Individual Contributor into Leadership
Speaker - Elizabeth Lions
Speaker Bio - Elizabeth Lions grew up in central New Jersey and studied psychology at the University of Maine. She is the author of two books, “Recession Proof Yourself” and “I Quit! Working for You Isn't Working For Me”. Elizabeth is currently crafting her third book on leadership. Elizabeth’s coaching practice is broken into two key areas: career management and leadership.
Elizabeth’s credentials include being quoted in U.S. World News Report, AOL Jobs, Australian Finance, Silicon India, CBS Money Watch, Yahoo, The Ladders, and Dice job boards. Her words have reached as far as the front page of the Philadelphia Tribune, PBS, CBS Money Watch, Dale Carnegie and John Tesh’s blog.
In 2013, her radio show for women entitled, “Leadership Lessons from the Lioness”, was created through Plaid For Women, along with her articles. A year later she brought her leadership classes to Dubai.
Elizabeth’s client list includes executives from Fiserv, AT&T, Microsoft, Wells Fargo, eBay and Intel to name a few.
Today, Elizabeth can be found writing, coaching and collaborating with the who’s who of the Corporate America, as well as abroad.
